OUR MISSION TO REDUCE SKIN CANCER RATES #GlowingOnAMission
Over the past decade, more men have become "tan fans", which has been linked to the increased numbers of men attending the gym, working out and looking for a "toned & tanned" look.
Just check out the tan on Ryan...he is definitely "toned & tanned" to perfection.
Personal Trainer, Ryan Nettleship, wears our Shadow Star shade for a photo shoot.
Unfortunately, a lot of men perceive the application of a Self-Tanning Mousse or a Professional Spray-Tan to be a "female beauty treatment", which is totally incorrect, but this has persuaded the majority of men to choose dangerous UV sunbeds to top up their colour instead of a safer alternative.
As a result, Melanoma skin cancer rates in men have risen drastically over the last 10 years, by a concerning 50%, with a 30% rise for female cases.
Even more frightening is the fact that skin cancer is more common in men and male death rates have increased by 8% in the past 10 years.
Over 17,500 people are diagnosed with skin cancer and 100 people die every year, in the UK, directly because of sunbed use and over-exposure to UV radiation.
Over 3.5 million people are diagnosed with skin cancer and 17,500 people die every year, in the US, because of over-exposure to UV radiation.
And these are just the PREVENTABLE cases.
Men are more likely to be diagnosed at a later stage than women, with many men ignoring the warnings for years before realising they have some form of life-threatening skin cancer. Male skin cancers are often found on the torso and/or back areas, which can make it harder to spot any unusual changes or abnormalities on the skin's surface.
As always, we have a lot of plans in the pipeline, to help encourage more masculine people to change their tanning techniques, from using life-threatening sunbeds to using a safe, natural-looking, self-tanning product instead.
Why risk your health or your life when you can look this good with NO RISKS?
